Predators put Blackhawks on brink of elimination with 3-2 win in OT, take 3-0 series lead.

   The Blackhawks and Predators were scoreless after one period. Predators had 17-9 lead in shots on goal. Seventeen saves for Corey Crawford in the first period. It wasn’t bad first period. Hawks had some quality chances but just couldn’t convert. Blackhawks had six shots on goal in the first 5 minutes, just three the rest of the period.

   Blackhawks led the Predators 2-0 after two periods. Blackhawks found some offense. They score twice behind Rasmussen and Kane. Hawks had 27 shot attempts (13 on goal) in the second period. Blackhawks had 23 blocked shots thru two periods.

   Blackhawks had a 2-0 lead entering the third period. Blackhawks and Predators remain tied 2-2 after three periods and were headed to overtime. Predators were up 40-31 in shots on goal. Corey Crawford stopped 38 of 40 through regulation.

   Kevin Fiala scored the game-winner in overtime to lift the Predators over the Blackhawks 3-2 in Game 3 of the Western Conference quarterfinals. Corey Crawford was outstanding in OT but he can only do so much. Crawford stopped 46 of 49 shots. Blackhawks made the proper adjustments this game. Preds two goals were bad puck and video review luck for the Hawks. Blackhawks finished with 65 shot attempts (50 at even strength, 36 on goal total). Predators had 94 shot attempts. Blackhawks are on the brink of elimination. They now trail 0-3 for the first time since the 2011 quarterfinals. They lost that series in seven games to Vancouver. Game 4 is Thursday night in Nashville.
