The Chicago Bulls are not messing around as they beat the Celtics 111-97 and take a 2-0 series lead. Bulls look like the better team in just about every area.
It was a great first half for the Bulls as they led 54-46 heading into halftime. Rajon Rondo was balling all game night. It was fast start for Niko which was exactly what the Bulls coaches hoped for. Heading into halftime, Niko had 10 points and 6 rebounds. Bulls had 32 points in the paint and 11 bench points in the first half. Jimmy Butler was 4-of-12 for 9 points.
The second half the Bulls came out aggressive and maintained their lead. Bulls offensive execution was excellent. Celtics were getting hung up on screens and had poor rotation to shooters. Bulls’ guards were owning the Celtics on the glass throughout this whole series. Jimmy Butler scored 22 points, Rajon Rondo finished one rebound shy of a triple-double. Butler also had eight rebounds and eight assists. Rondo’s night ended with 11 points and 14 assists on a night when all five Bulls starters reached double figures. Rondo had a franchise playoff-record-tying 14 assists as the Bulls shot 51.1 percent overall. Bulls were +24 with Rajon Rondo on the floor tonight. Bulls shot 15/24 (62.5%) from outside the paint in the second half.
They are now 68-0 when leading by 11 or more points after 3 quarters of a Playoff game. Dwyane Wade had 22 points, including 16 in the second half, and Robin Lopez added 18 points and eight points. This Bulls team is playing with heart and they’re showing it with Rondo being the leader with his great leadership throughout the game telling everyone what to do and Wade was vintage in the 4th quarter.
