Chicago Bulls point guard Rajon Rondo is out indefinitely with a right thumb fracture, the team announced Friday morning ahead of Game 3 in the evening against the Celtics.
The Bulls announce that Rajon Rondo suffered the injury in the Bulls win at Boston in Game 2 on Tuesday, with subsequent X-rays and an exam confirming the fracture. Surgery won’t be needed.
According to Coach Hoiberg, Rajon Rondo is in cast and will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days. Suffered injury in 3rd quarter. Played through it. Jerian Grant will start tonight.Michael Carter Williams will be the backup PG. Cameron Payne will be active for tonight’s game.
Rajon Rondo is averaging 11.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 10.0 assists in the first two games of the series. Huge loss for the Bulls.
