The Chicago Bears went 3-13 last year. They have missed the playoffs for six straight years. The Bears had to do something in this draft. The Bears made a huge splash. Bears acquired the No. 2 pick from San Francisco on Thursday night, then used it to select North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. We have been desperate for a franchise quarterback for years, so Mitch Trubisky could be the answer for that. Soldier Field had thousands of empty seats last season. Trubisky will fill those seats. In 2016, Trubisky competed 304 of 446 throws for 3,478 yards, 30 touchdowns and six interceptions. Mike Glennon’s long-term future is now bleak. The Bears have identified him as the starter for now, but Trubisky has to be the guy soon. I believe they should start Trubisky week 1. Bears now have four picks remaining in this draft: Round 2, No. 36; Round 4, No. 117 (from Bills); Round 5, No. 147; and Round 7, No. 221.
