Chicago Cubs went 1-1 today

The Chicago Cubs lost 10-4 to the Rockies in Game 1 of a doubleheader on Tuesday, Rockies scored 6 runs in the third inning which started by an error on Javier Baez. Jake Arrieta gave up six hits in the third. The Rockies bested pitcher Jake Arrieta for nine runs (five earned) in 3 2/3 innings. Arrieta ERA is now at 5.35. Game 1 was a tough game for the Cubs.

Chicago Cubs won Game 2 of the doubleheader, beating the Rockies 8-1. The Cubs finally got the pitching performance they’ve been looking for. John Lackey threw 7 shutout innings while striking out 10. The Cubs scored five runs in the second inning. Cubs snapped out of their 6-for-44 slump with runners in scoring position with three RBI singles from pitcher Lackey, Albert Almora Jr. and Kris Bryant. The teams split the doubleheader.
