Chicago Cubs lost 3-0 to the Rockies. Chicago falls to 17-17, heads to St. Louis for start of 3-game series Friday. Rockies pitcher German Marquez allowed three hits over eight innings and got his first major league hit with a two-run single in the seventh inning. Marquez actually had a no-hitter going until Cubs Kris Bryant’s had a leadoff double in the seventh inning. Cubs pitcher Kyle Hendricks had a very solid game as he only gave up three runs, two earned in 6 1/3 innings. Addison Russell was a late scratch with soreness in his right shoulder. Cubs are off Thursday before a three-game series in St. Louis. Eddie Butler will make his Cubs debut on Friday against the Cardinals in place of injured starter Brett Anderson.
