Chicago Cubs beat the Brewers 13-6 in front of 41,671 Cubs fans at Wrigley Field. Ben Zobrist started it off with a leadoff home runs. It’s the first leadoff home runs by the Cubs since Dexter Fowler did it in game 7 of the World Series. Kris Byrant reached base five times, including two hit by pitches. Bryant had two home runs, his ninth and 10th of the season. Catcher Wilson Contreras had three hits, three RBI’s and scored twice. The rookie Ian Happ had another solid game as he had two doubles. Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta allowed an unearned run, five hits, and a walk, while striking out six batters. Anthony Rizzo hit a two-run home run in the eight’s inning. Cubs scored in every inning they batted except the second inning. Cubs remain two behind first place.
