With the trade deadline rapidly approaching, the Chicago Cubs appear primed to try to make one more big move. The target this time appears to be Detroit left-hander Justin Wilson. Wilson has been one of the hottest names on the trade market at the deadline, and it appears that the Cubs are one of the teams best positioned to make a move for the southpaw reliever. In addition to the Cubs, the Astros and Dodgers have been two of the other teams linked to Wilson. At this point, the Cubs and Dodgers appear to be in a bidding war over the 29-year-old. Furthering the trade rumors, both Jaimer Candelario and Mark Zagunis are absent from the Iowa Cubs lineup tonight. What remains to be seen is whether or not Detroit will include catcher Alex Avila in a potential deal with the Cubs. The Cubs have actively been seeking backup catcher help, and Avila, who has destroyed right-handed pitching this year, has certainly been on their radar. It will be interesting to see how the Wilson bidding war shapes up Stay tuned for further updates.
